Eva Ruth Moravec

Eva Ruth Moravec is an Austin, Texas-based freelance reporter who strings regularly for The Washington Post, including recent coverage of Hurricane Harvey. A seasoned reporter, Moravec previously worked as a staff reporter for the San Antonio Express-News and Associated Press. In addition to The Post, she freelances for several other local, state and national publications. While completing her master’s degree last year, Moravec wrote a grant-funded reporting series that ran in three Texas newspapers focused on officer-involved shootings of unarmed individuals. She is continuing to track those interactions, as well as others between law enforcement and the public, in a forthcoming project.
