Valeria Román

Valeria Román writes for Scientific American and Nature and lives in Buenos Aires. She was science editor at Clarín, the largest daily newspaper in Argentina, and served as vice president of the World Federation of Science Journalists from 2009 to 2011. Argentina’s Konex Foundation selected her as one of the 100 best journalists in the country during the past two decades. She was a 2004-05 Knight Science Journalism Fellow at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a Medical Journalism Program Fellow at the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland in 2003. She shares her passion for science journalism through workshops and conferences and has spoken in Perú, Uruguay, Chile, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela, Nicaragua, México, Qatar, South Korea, Trinidad and Tobago, Finland, Spain, and England. She was a cofounder and the first president of the Argentine Network of Science Journalism.
