Biography
Justin Brashares directs Berkeley’s Biodiversity, Health and Livelihoods Initiative, which develops interdisciplinary approaches to better understand and mitigate the impacts of a changing planet on marginalized peoples. Brashares received his graduate training in ecology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of British Columbia and then trained as a postdoctoral fellow at Cambridge University. He joined the Department of Environmental Science, Policy and Management at UC Berkeley in 2004. https://nature.berkeley.edu/BrasharesGroup/
