Campus Squirrel Tour –  The Original Nut Experts: Tree Squirrels

During this tour, Berkeley Ph.D. candidate Mikel Maria Delgado will discuss her research exploring how scatter-hoarding fox squirrels assess the food items they bury and use this information to make decisions about where to bury each nut. Her field studies have shown that these decisions are affected by the value of each nut, the threat of theft from competitors, and seasonal availability of food.
