Lunch @UCBerkeley with Robert Knight – Analyzing brain waves to read your mind
DOWNLOADABLE GUIDE TO SUNDAY EVENTSNeural signals recorded directly from the human brain provide a new window into how we speak, think and remember. Knight will review some of the neurophysiological mechanisms that support human cognition with an emphasis on the key role of the prefrontal cortex in orchestrating goal-directed behavior. He will also discuss how this approach can be used to decode imagined speech from the human auditory cortex, paving the way for the development of a speech neuroprosthesis for patients with disabling speech disorders.
