Biography
Adam Ferguson is a principal investigator in both the Brain and Spinal Injury Center at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and at the San Francisco VA Medical Center. He holds a Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience and received a postdoctoral National Research Service Award and a National Institutes of Health Early Stage Investigator Award. Born in San Antonio, Texas, the son of an elementary school educator and a hospice doctor, Ferguson majored in English at a small liberal arts school before he developed a “deep and unshakeable interest in biology and psychology.” He has published more than 85 peer-reviewed papers and 100 conference proceedings related to recovery after injury to the brain or spinal cord.
