Biography

Douglas Fox writes extensively on Earth, Antarctic, and polar sciences. His stories have appeared in Scientific American, National Geographic Magazine, Esquire, Virginia Quarterly Review, High Country News, Discover, Popular Mechanics, Nature, Slate, The Christian Science Monitor, and other publications. Stories by Doug have been anthologized in The Best American Science & Nature Writing (2009), The Best Technology Writing (2010), and The Best American Science Writing (2012), and have garnered awards from the American Association for the Advancement of Science (2009), American Society of Journalists and Authors (2011), National Association of Science Writers (2013), American Geophysical Union (2015), and the Society of Environmental Journalists (2016). Doug is a contributing author to The Science Writers’ Handbook (Da Capo, 2013).
