Biography
Duane J. Gubler has spent his career working on insect-borne infectious diseases, in particular dengue and dengue hemorrhagic fever. He has lived in tropical countries for 26 years and has extensive field experience in Asia, the Pacific and Caribbean islands, Central and South America and Africa. Gubler has published more than 300 papers on every aspect of dengue and other vector-borne diseases and has served as a consultant to the World Health Organization and countless other agencies. He has also been instrumental in developing the Pediatric Dengue Vaccine Initiative.
