Biography
After receiving her nursing credential in 2004, Elena Flowers worked as a clinical nurse and went on to receive her master’s from UCSF School of Nursing. Keen to pursue a research career, she entered the Ph.D. program, receiving her doctorate in June 2012 and joining the School of Nursing faculty a few months later. Flowers was named a Nurse Faculty Scholars Finalist by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation in 2014; a KL2 Scholar by UCSF for the 2014-2018 period; and was named a Martha N. Hill New Investigator Award Finalist by the American Heart Association in 2012.
