Biography

Rodrigo Pérez Ortega started freelancing after attending the AAAS annual meeting in San Jose, California in 2015, writing a column in Tech Review and features in ¿cómo ves?, Ciencias and Valor. Based in Mexico City, he is a frequent collaborator at Medscape en Español. He specializes in health and neuroscience journalism, but also writes about biology, psychology and medicine. Rodrigo has been awarded several fellowships, such as the NASW Travel Fellowship (2015 & 2016), a travel fellowship to attend the World Conference of Science Journalists in Seoul, Korea (2015), the SMASH16 Fellowship (2016), and most recently, The Open Noteboook/Burroughs Wellcome Fund Fellowship (2017).
