Biography

Ruby Barcklay works to build awareness of the importance of basic science research and the need for private funding, and supports the development of content that is useful to foundations and philanthropists interested in supporting basic science research. Prior to joining the Science Philanthropy Alliance, she directed communications at Climate Policy Initiative, a global not-for-profit analytical and advisory organization that works to improve the most important energy and land use policies around the world, with a particular focus on finance. She was senior vice president at the San Francisco office of Fleishman-Hillard, a global communications consultancy, helping organizations build, enhance, and protect their brands, influence stakeholders, and promote products and ideas. At Fleishman-Hillard, she provided senior level counsel to key clients, executives, and stakeholders in a variety of sectors, including the environment and energy, technology, consumer, and government sectors. Ruby has a bachelor of arts degree in economics from Stanford University.
