Steven Bedard

Steven Bedard is a former field biologist who spent the early 90s chasing spotted owls and northern goshawks through the woods of the western U.S. He now reports, writes, and produces media about the work scientists do, instead of actually conducting the scientific research himself—it’s way easier. He has spent the past 20 years creating science content for magazines, websites, museum exhibits, and short- and long-form documentaries on topics ranging from astrophysics and archaeology to genetics, evolution, and public health. He has found his niche at bioGraphic, an online science and nature magazine from the California Academy of Sciences that showcases both the wonder of nature and the most promising solutions for sustaining life on Earth.
