Ellen Rykers is a freelance writer and graduate student at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand. She is studying toward a Master of Science Communication specializing in creative nonfiction writing. Ellen’s work has appeared in Australian Geographic, New Zealand Geographic, Lateral Magazine, Global Hobo and on Radio New Zealand. She aspires to be a full-time writer covering all things scientifically weird and wonderful for publications like National Geographic.
