DOWNLOADABLE GUIDE TO SUNDAY EVENTS
UC San Francisco (UCSF) is one of the premier health sciences universities in the world. It receives more funding from the U.S. National Institutes of Health than any other public university in the nation and second most overall. Its hospital system is ranked fifth in the nation by US News & World Report, and its graduate schools of dentistry, medicine, nursing and pharmacy are among the top ranked. A full afternoon of university events follows a conference plenary featuring a conversation between New York Times columnist Carl Zimmer and UCSF’s Joe DeRisi, pioneering infectious disease researcher and co-president of the Chan Zuckerberg Biohub, which is designed to drive technologically driven biomedical research. In addition to a full slate of conference sessions, visitors to UCSF can enjoy a science expo and tours and sign up for Lunch with a Scientist to hear Jennifer Puck on CRISPR ethics and therapies, and to meet luminaries on the cutting edge of cancer research.
