Biography
Award-winning journalist Erika Hayden was on staff at Nature for 15 years, where she focused on covering infectious diseases and genetics. Her work on the 2014 Ebola epidemic, supported in part by the Pulitzer Center on Crisis Reporting, received multiple awards from the Association of Health Care Journalists. Hayden started her career at Newsweek magazine in New York, where she covered breaking news events, including the September 11 terrorist attacks.
