Peter Vermij

Peter Vermij is a science communicator based in Amsterdam (Netherlands). He is an award-winning science reporter, writing for Nature journals, Dutch newspapers and other media outlets. Since 2006, he has helped many academic, government and industry clients in Europe and the U.S. phrase effective science messages for specific audiences–first from within a big firm and since 2009, through his own communications consultancy. He also moderates public discussions on science-related topics and controversies. His clients now include all major national science organizations in the Netherlands, but universities and companies from other countries know to find him as well. Peter has a master’s degree in biology from the University of Groningen (Netherlands), but he has always earned his living as a writer/journalist, even before his 1989 graduation.
